What is Rosacea?

Rosacea is a long-term skin condition that causes redness, swelling and sores, particularly on the face. Rosacea can be associated with other skin and eye conditions. Symptoms include spider-like blood vessels of the face, a red nose or face, acne-like skin sores, irritated eyes and a burning sensation of the face.

The exact causes of rosacea are unknown, but it is believed that swelling of blood vessels underneath the skin, sun damage of connective tissue, and unusual inflammatory reactions may trigger this condition. Even ruddy cheeks–that flushed look of having just stepped off a treadmill or back from a winter’s walk–can be a sign of rosacea.

Rosacea affects 1 in 10 adults. Those who are fair-skinned, women, and between the ages of 30 and 50 are more likely to be diagnosed with this skin condition. Rosacea often comes and goes, and symptoms may or may not worsen over time.

Benefits of Rosacea Treatment

Although rosacea is harmless, it can adversely affect the lives of those suffering from the condition. In a survey conducted by the National Rosacea Society, 41 percent of the people stated their rosacea caused them to avoid in-person contact and social events. Among those with severe rosacea, 70 percent said the disease affected their interactions at work, while 30% said rosacea caused them to miss work. Rosacea can cause frustration, embarrassment, low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. To treat roseaca, we recommend Micro Botox, or as we like or call it: HD Botox, our newest weapon in our arsenal to fight the war on aging.

HD Botox is a new procedure that has been developed for use in conjunction with standard injections. It is a treatment for patients who opt for a more natural-looking rejuvenation, as opposed to that “frozen” look that traditionally prepared botulinum toxin can give. Traditional Botox treatments aim to disrupt the communication between your muscle and nerve, which in turn minimizes the dynamic lines that have formed with facial expressions over time. Micro-Botox however, targets only the most superficial muscle fibers with a series of small, highly diluted micro-droplet injections. This innovative treatment not only minimizes the finest of fine lines that traditional Botox cannot treat, but acts like shrink wrap for enlarged pores, which makes crepe-paper like skin look much smoother. It does not stop there, this nifty little trick also diminishes sebaceous gland activity, the glands become atrophied, which reduces oil production, and is great solution for patients who suffer from Acne and Rosacea.

Rosacea can be managed and improved with treatment and removal techniques. Improving the condition of your rosacea can help you feel more comfortable in your own skin. Feeling better about your body can raise your confidence and improve your wellbeing. Because rosacea is a chronic condition, taking advantage of reduction/removal treatments now will help you manage your condition in the future. Preventative treatments can also reduce the severity and number of flare-ups of rosacea as well as limit redness and acne-like breakouts.
